In the recent days I have received reports from my users that for some users they cannot initiate the "Receive payment" function (i.e. use POS payment) for certain users. The error message is:
There are no possible payment types to receive this payment via POS.
Please, contact the administration.
The strange thing is that this was working flawless (at least on 25.04.2017 - I can see transactions at this date), but it is broken now. Additionally, this happens only for certain users, while for other users it is working just fine. I checked the users carefully, but I cannot see any differences between them from the UI. They both have the same products, groups, configuration.
Was there any change recently on community.cyclos.org that could cause this?

You can try a reindex users to update last values:
Users management -> Bulk actions -> Re-index

Indeed, it seems to fix the issue. I did not know that there were other payment related data that can be out-of-date in the system. I was assuming that re-indexing is just building up an index for the search functionality, but it seems it does a bit more in the backgroud 
In the future, I will trigger this first if I see something strange before complaining

When Cyclos launches a new version or when there are problems that only affect some users it's advisable to perform a re-index.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. It was not obvious that communities.cyclos.org was updated in the beginning of May (when the problem surfaced), however I saw that a new beta version was available. Is there a way (for a network administrator) to check what version of cyclos is running on communities.cyclos.org?

As you know, Cyclos 4 Communities versions are automatically updated.
As admin, It's nowhere indicated at network.
The current version is 4.7.2, see -> https://www.cyclos.org/faq/ (fifth question)
