"web slice" technology for Cyclos?

Post by edlin »

Hi!

The feature "Preferences > ad interest" is too laborious and fussy. In our LETS system many members unfortunately prefer the "good old mailing list" instead of Cyclos for new ads.

RSS feeds for new ads would be a good feature in Cyclos, but it does not work with encrypted https sites. But the new browser feature "web slices" does! Here are some good links:

Hi,
Mailing list and rss.
good to hear this kind of thing.
im working on show last new ads and member search using web-services (based on the member_site released, that work out of box), but this kind of stuff is allways good to know.
we cant never predict the user behaviour, the most we can do is make avaiable options (otoh, sometimes is even better to not make all tools avaiable, as for some users, less is more. complicated things scary regular users)

best regards,
