NuoDB An Elastically Scalable Cloud Database

Post by nzjustinc »

 Could I ask if its a good idea to work with the new NUODB as this system database is promoted as highly scalable and elastical. This would help greatly as the database becomes much more huge over time. Could I ask if theres any way cyclos could be configured to use it? Under the hood, NuoDB is an asynchronous, decentralized, peer-to-peer database.

Cyclos uses Hibernate, which access the database over jdbc.
If ever there is a JDBC driver for it, and Hibernate supports it, it could be possible.
However, the automatic database upgrade over versions is only supported on MySQL, and there are a few native sqls over the application.
That's why basically all Cyclos users stick with MySQL / MariaDB.
