Keywords for Ad Interests don't work

Post by exo »

Hi everyone,

I add ad interest with the following options (test1 user) :
  • Interest name : Keyboard
    Type : Offer
    Ad category : All Categories
    Member login : test2
    Price range From : 10,00 To 20,00
Keywords : Logitech, Microsoft, Keyboard, Gaming Keyboard
Then I login with test2 user and I create an ad with the following options :
  • Type : Offer
Title : Microsoft Keyboard Wireless Desktop 800
    Category : Example Category
    Price : 15,00
    Not expirable : Checked
    Description :
Wireless Freedom at an Affordable Price
Experience the freedom and convenience of wireless technology with this affordable keyboard and mouse set. Control a media computer while sitting on your couch, or conveniently stow the keyboard and mouse away without hassling with wires. You can roam up to 30 feetaway with a strong signal. Or, you can take the mouse separately to use with a laptop while traveling—the tiny transceiver conveniently snaps into the bottom of the mouse when it’s time to pack up and go. Setting up the keyboard and mouse is simple: just insert the batteries, plug in the tiny transceiver, and start typing!
Finally test1 user never received a notification (Email or Cyclos message)... :(

Why?? I used in my keywords the Keyboard and Microsoft......I don't understand why the system doesn't inform the test1 user.

Can you tell me what i am doing wrong? :?

Thank you.

HI,

What version of cyclos do you are using?
I tested with the last version and works fine.

One thing you must see is if the test1 user has the notifications for ad interests enable on his preferences ( user menu > preferences > notifications )

Hi alexandre,

I have the latest version of cyclos 3.7.3 and I also checked all notifications of test1 user.... :( :( :(

The notifications are working only when the Interest name in "ad interests" section is the same with the ad title in "New advertisement" section

HI,

I used exactly the example that you post and works.

Do you have an example that not work?

I found the problem where it is. I think that it does not recognize more than two keywords that are separated by comma. I don't know why..

I run the first example with one keyword : Keyboard and it worked!

Is there any other way to add multiple keywords ???

HI,

The keyword must match exactly the ad published, so you should use only 1 keyword per interest not a list with keywords.

Only one ??? I didnt know :( :(

You could add this attribute in a future version? I believe that this addon is very important because you don't know how each user will compose the advertisement and what is the order of the keywords of this ad.

thank you for quick reply.

Have a nice day :)

We will look in to that. It is not that easy because we use a standard software library for this function.
