limiting access to specific advertisement categories

As far as we can tell, there is no way to limit access to specific ad categories, based on permission groups, in Cyclos 3.6.1

Is there any functionality to do this in 3.7 or 4.x ?

Basically, what we want to be able to do is to hide certain advert categories (both offers and requests) from certain permission groups, so that members in those permission groups cannot view or respond to these ads.

This is true indeed, in Cyclos 4 we will take care of this. In Cyclos 4 you can just have different categories for different user. Called add category sets. You can give can users access to one or more of these add category sets. Here is a part of the documentation:

To make in more easy to find an ad, ads have to be set to a certain category. A category can have sub categories and sub categories can have sub categories and so on. Ads are always part of a category leaf (the last sub category). A category set is a complete tree of categories. In Cyclos it is possible to have more than one category set. From which category set(s) a user can see the advertisements is defined in the users products. This sub module allows admins to create new category sets and gives an overview of all the sets in the system.

I have this same problem. Will this really work with 3.7? Please let me know as soon as possible.
