Querying pending members via web services

Post by simonjwoolf »

Hi,

Is there a way of querying pending members via web services? We have a use case where we are creating new members from an external app, but we first need to check if the member already exists. This is done by checking against email address.

The problems start if there is already a pending member with the email address that is being entered in the external app. The webservices lookup (to full members) comes back with no match, so our app tries to create a new member, and.... kaboom! Because there is already a pending member with this email.

We are currently using Cyclos 3.6.1 - we have the option to upgrade to 3.7 if this would solve the problem (however we'd have to rewrite our code to target the new REST webservice I suppose?)

Regards,

Simon

Hi Simon,

Currently it is not possible to retrieve information about pending members. Pending members are stored in a separate table in Cyclos. This means that a new web service would need to be created which is a bit time consuming. For the moment this is not planned. The development of such a feature would be quite straight forward. A Java programmer could do this in a couple of days.

Thanks, we might have a stab at this. If we do I'll share the code!
