Issues regarding E-mail as principal/login credential

Post by gert.meeder »

For a particular instance (via Channels > Main Web Access) I've added the option to login by e-mail address and set the e-mail address as the default (It is more common these days for people to login by means of their e-mail address only, thus more user friendly). I would have disabled the username option entirely, if not for the fact that this setting seemingly doesn't apply for admins, and they would thus no longer be able to access the system potentially. Regarding this I have two questions:

i) Is it true that an e-mail address can never be a principal type for admins?

ii) I was unable to locate the sentence(s) "Access using Inlognaam" (& "Access using E-mail"), that are situated on the login screen, in translation. Nor any related translation key. If a single principal type is not an option, then I need to reformulate these sentences because they've proven somewhat confusing to some users. Please point me to were these can be changed.

HI,

Yes for admins isn't possible to use email as credential, this is hardcoded login name.

The translation for the sentence is this
login.accessUsing = Access using {0}
