Transfers between communities

Post by cycloshost » Thu Dec 26, 2013 8:44 am

Hi,

we saw in the feature list that transfers between communities in the same network are possible. Currently when we add a new transfer type in a community, it is only possible to select as destination one of the account types of that community. We try that with an admin with network permissions, is this feature only possible with higher permissions?

Thanks!

Hi,

This is currently not possible. The feature will be added in the future. Here some information of the help manual:
The first versions of Cyclos4 won't support interaction among networks yet. The structure is prepared for this and it can be added at a later stage. The feature will be incremental. What means that existing systems with networks can enable interaction when the feature becomes available.

OK, i think we understood wrong the network concept then. That means that Network=Community

A network admin in Cyclos communities can manage several communities, but not other communities that are managed by other network admins.

How are called then these "set of Communities" that each network admin can manage? We thought networks were these "set of Communities". This is why we took for granted that transfers between communities of the same network admin were available.

But now that we have clear that a network is a community, arises another question:
A network admin will be able to manage transfer types only between communities that he/she manages? Will be necessary a global admin to manage transfers between communities from different network admins?

OK, i think we found the answer in the manual again:
A global administrator can also define 'global' elements such as 'global' accounts, and make them available for specific networks so that they can interoperate.

Hi,

To clarify. There is one system global admin group. These admins can manage the whole system, and any network configured in that system.
It is possible to create global admin groups which users (admins) can manage specific networks/communities. In the community instance we call them multi community administrators. Multi community admins can be given permissions to create & manage a specific amount of networks, and the can be assigned permissions over existing communities/networks. See: http://www.cyclos.org/cyclos4communitiessupport
As you are a provider you will know this. But I put it just for information.

Be aware that within a network / community you can also create different user groups and accounts, and configure 'inter' payments between those groups. Each group can have there own configuration, layout, content and business rules.

Hi, any news on interoperability among communities? Will be a target for 4.4?

Thanks!
