Problems with notifications by Email. Please, quick help!!

Hi,

The notification system via email does not work properly from about three weeks ago .

We did not change any system parameter setup email and we reviewed that is properly synchronized with our gmail (ecotracte@gmail.com).

Only notifications of scheduled payments are sent and also not to the correct address. All messages are sent to this email: alexandre@instrodi.org

This is an important issue because if the system does not send messages correctly nobody can register (not receive the validation email password), users do not receive any internal messages to his e-mail when there has been a payment or when someone has made a question about some ad, etc...

Dear Joan,

Yes this is not very convenient for you guys. This is a strange problem you are reporting and we can't really find out what is wrong. We use STARTTLS maybe this is not accepted by your smtp server. Sometimes they change their protocol requirements. To help you, later this week we will try to add support for normal TLS, STARTTLS and unsuccered connections.

Hi Roder,

For some time we have disabled the security system devices connected to our Gmail to work well with Cyclos, although it is an unwise choice. Until recently it worked properly.

We hope you find the solution.

Dear Joan,

Google probably indeed doesn't support unencrypted connections with its smptp server anymore. Also it probably didn't support STARTTLS (which we used) anymore. Therefor we introduced some new options in the configuration:
- Unencrypted
- STARTTLS
- SSL/TLS

I set it this setting to SSL/TLS for you guys, hope it will work again.

Dear Roder,

Problem solved!! Now the emails are sent to the recipient correctly.

In the system configuration of our community we have had to select STARTTLS to work well.

However, if we select SSL/TLS or Unencrypted emails are not sent through our Gmail.

Very grateful for your support.

Great, they should work both now, gmail (currently) uses port 465 (or 25) for SSL and port 587 for TLS.

We used the 587 port.
OK, we set now to the 465 port on SSL/TLS and running good too.
