New global system to support local systems

Hi,

The most correct solution would be to have a configuration for every country. Using one configuration for world wide system is not ideal. Formatting and language are defined per configuration. In the future will might add user defined localization.

If you want to use just one configuration for various countries you could ask the users to put in the international number. Starting by + followed by the land number. That will always work.
If you do this you might want to select 'Always show international phone number' in the configuration (phone section).

Thank you for answer. This is confusing - the report of problem with phone was in the bug section. I guess I understand you mean that Cyclos is configured for different languages and so different systems for different countries is optimal regarding phone use, so the problem is that we are using the software in an unanticipated manner, and the solution is to use "+" before the international code.

The "configuration details" does not give permission to unlock option to "always show international number". And of course I can't tell guests whom are trying to register and wish to enter phone number to use +, because there is no space on the registration form to place that info. We have reports of persons deciding not to register because they lose confidence in the system because they are following directions and it doesn't accept their valid number.

You can always customize the translation key. Make sure you have the permission to do these changes and go to:
System management > Content management > Application translation and search for "mobile phone" (or the key USERS.PHONES.type.MOBILE)

You can for example change: "Mobile phone" into "International mobile nr. (start with +)". It is a trick but it should be clear enough for everyone.
